Because of several difficult experiences in my childhood, anxiety and depression have been lifelong companions. I have tried a lot of different strategies to deal with them, including therapy and both prescribed medication and self-medicating. This book has helped me a lot. During the course of reading it I was weaning myself off of my antidepressant and anti-anxiety medications again under doctor supervision- I'd tried before and failed. But reading her book right at this time helped me tremendously. I have been off of all medication for nearly 5 months now and keep returning to this book rather than my doctor when I come up against something that brings up those old feelings again. I'm not going to say I am forever cured of anxiety and depression, I'm not sure that is ever true for anyone who has struggled with them. There is always the potential for something in life to trigger those thoughts and feelings. But this book has really helped me through some difficult times that I think in the past would have sent me back to my pills. I'm exercising more. I'm reading more. I'm listening to audio books and learning new things daily. And I am writing more than I have ever written in my life right now. Thank you, Jodi for this book and for the great work that you are doing.
How much better can it get than to learn and understand anxiety and fear, than from someone who has dealt with it for many years AND has overcome it. How often do people with anxiety (myself included) have the real desire to learn everything they can about it, including the biological and physiological aspects. I've dealt with anxiety for so many years, up and down, but never did the research. Jodi did just that! She learned, read, studied, spoke to experts, poured herself into learning about this condition that was controlling her life and robbing her of happiness. We are the benefactors of the time and effort she put into researching this condition that affects so many people around the world, from all walks of life. Anxiety is not racist, prejudice, sexist, gender biased, etc. It doesn't care if you're rich, poor or anywhere in the middle. It's a condition suffered in silence by so many. Jodi's book not only helped me to understand more about anxiety, but inspired me to keep learning, and I still am. Get the book! You won't regret it. Her genuine desire to help others overcome anxiety and improve their lives is evident.
I feel this book has given me hope. Hope that I can get my life back on track. I didn't know anxiety was such a self esteem issue. But after learning that I've been making strides in the right direction.very thankful for this book.
I have struggled with anxiety for as long as I can remember, but after reading You 1 Anxiety 0, I knew I could conquer it. I found it hard to stop reading, because I related to her story and her struggle. Now I was hearing clear, easy, sensible strategies that I could incorporate into living a new way. It felt like a was reading about my life, and her solutions gave me new hope that I could overcome this and I could live a life free from the anxiety that left me living in fear. So goodbye anxiety, I no longer believe the lie and thank you Jodi Aman for showing me I how I can live anxiety free.
Read this book at a very low point in my life. Anxiety and depression were crippling. This book helped me work through many of my issues and I was finally able to seek the help that I needed.
This book gave me new ideas and tips on how to face my anxiety. Whether you have a little anxiety or a lot...this is a must read. The only thing that concerned me was that a Christian author would recommend going to any "higher power"...it made me sad as I believe Jesus is the only way to eternal life and I would love for everyone to know Him. HOWEVER, the book is still awesome no matter your faith and I would highly recommend.
If I could give more stars I would!! I’ve tried so many things to help my anxiety and nothing has helped! Even meds, not suggesting that at all. One day I came across Jodi’s book and bought it! Easy read and has been the only thing to help me feel relief! She explains things perfectly! Breaks it all down. If you have extreme anxiety or just a little, get this book NOW!!!! Seriously amazing. She also has YouTube videos and a driving meditation that’s wonderful. After years of anxiety and panic attacks I finally feel relief!! Thank you Jodi!
Jodi has done a great job explaining the generation of anxiety and offering practical ways to retire it. I'm happy to have it on hand to revisit any time I get stuck in some unproductive cycle. There's also good information on how to help others with anxiety.
