I purchased for my room mate and best friend for Christmas last year, and it turned out to be the perfect gift. We are both avid outdoorsmen, and I thought this would be something to flip through while we were stuck at the University on weekends. The photographs are amazing, splendidly varied, and organized into sections so you don't have to dig through the pages to find the right picture for your mood. I would get lost looking through this book, the pictures really take you somewhere beautiful. Purchasing again for another friend this Christmas.
The low rating is not because of the quality of the book, its purely because of the actual size of the book being so small. I was really disappointed with it because it is impossible to open it to actually look at the pictures and need a magnifying glass to see the words. I ended up just throwing it away.
Overall, this book is not bad. There are a lot of good pictures, though it's a bit hard to hold being the size/shape it is.However, I feel that 2/3 of the photos could have been cut out. I'd rather see 100 exceptional photos (or 100 large photos), than countless mediocre ones.

I already have the original CubeBook for The Earth and it is truly wonderful. Today I received my order of 3 CubeBooks to give as holiday gifts. Sadly, these were designed for creatures from another world. They are tiny and not worth even looking at. Amazon has the dimensions stated wrong. They are indeed 2.5" cubed. The binding breaks as soon as you open them. Whoever decided that this "mini" CubeBook would be a great idea must have been on some weird, mind(IQ)-altering drugs. I'm sending them back immediately. They are useless. The original version is wonderful though. I'd give this tiny version zero stars if I could.
