First off, let me say that I LOVE Kristen Proby. Have read all of her books and the "With Me in Seattle" series is one of my absolute favorites. I also loved the first book in the Love Under the Big Sky series -- but this one did not do it for me.One of the things I like about her books is there isn't a ton of DRAMA and TURMOIL - let's be honest, I don't need to be stressing over the drama in a romance novel. I actually like the predictability of her books in that sense. I know what I'm getting into. However, I do have to agree with some previous reviewers that this particular book felt a little TOO drama-free (in terms of the romance between Lo and Ty). To the point where it was at times really boring. The thing with her other books is that even without over the top drama that other romances have, her characters were interesting and funny enough to make the non-drama really appealing. Ty and Lauren are just so "vanilla," as one reviewer put it. I didn't find the "funny" scenes very funny--they felt corny. And I also didn't really understand the chemistry between these two. I'm obviously in the minority on this, so it definitely could just be me.Drama free, of course, until the incident with her ex-husband which seemed over-the-top graphic and dramatic both in comparison to the rest of the book and Proby's other writings. I felt like there was this one dramatic moment to make up for everything else and it was so jarring (and a little upsetting) to me.Additionally, I felt like (again, another reviewer mentioned this) that the writing style was not on-par with Proby's previous novels. The sentences felt very short and simple and that negatively colored my enjoyment. Finally, let's talk about the main character, Lo. She is a romance writer and honestly I felt like it was just a little lazy when the character was so obviously based off of the writer herself. Plus, the snippets of the romance novels that Lo wrote didn't do it for me (I can't stand extraneous sex scenes without an actual story).I truly am a Proby fan, so I follow her on social media. She was hyping this book as her favorite couple, etc. etc. I have such a hard time understanding this compared with funny Jules, or sexy Leo, or heartfelt Luke.At the end of the day, any Proby fan will most likely buy this book, and I can guarantee I'll buy the next ones, too--just wanted to add my unfiltered opinion into the discussion.

The second book in this series follows Ty Sullivan and Lauren Cunningham. This is an amazing and beautiful second installment to this series!Lauren may have a privileged life, but it’s been anything but easy. Fighting a nasty ex-husband after her money, all Lauren wants is for it to end. When Ty refuses her case, she feels a bit rejected by him. But Ty’s refusal has nothing to do with rejection and everything to do with his attraction to her.I loved the way Ty takes care of Lauren. He shows her exactly how a man should treat a woman and as Lauren beings to open up to him, their relationship blossoms. But as with all things, before there can be a happily ever after, Lauren and Ty must deal with her past and the ex-husband who just won’t seem to leave her alone.I found this to be a sweet, hot and sexy read perfect to enjoy at the beach, or at home curled up in front of the fire. You are drawn into this story almost instantly and become emotionally invested in the well being of these characters. So now I have to say, I LOVE Kristen Proby. I have been reading her since she published Come Away With Me, the first book in the With Me in Seattle series. Kristen has the amazing ability to hook you into a story with in the first few pages of a book. After that, the story just seems to suck you in and you lose all sense of time and place and live the story right along with her characters.I love this series and I can’t wait for the third installment, Falling for Jillian out January 15, 2015.

Seducing Lauren Book #2 of “Love Under the Big Sky” series was a fabulous read.Ty and Lauren are introduced in Loving Cara, the first book of this series so I was really excited to read their story.Seducing Lauren opens with Lauren opening her front door to the Sheriff only to be served papers from her ex. When Lauren’s parents died they left Lauren a rather large inheritance unbeknownst to her, somehow her POS ex found out about it and is going after her for his fair share. He’s a money hungry, sadistic, abusive, evil POS. Lauren hits the ceiling and rushes to her Attorney’s office furious. Ty Sullivan comes from his office and says he’ll try to help. When she demands a new attorney Ty actually turns her down and advises her to make an appointment with Carl (her actual attorney). Lauren is hurt by this and storms out of the office. At first the readers will be a little taken back by Ty’s actions but it’s all explained later in their story. Both Ty and Lauren are attracted to each other but Lauren assumes he’s just not interested. There are several scenes in this read that are quite tense. One being when Lauren returns from the Attorney’s Office only to be confronted by her ex at her house. Jack makes several threats and innuendo’s about taking her and that she’ll always be his wife and she better just settle up. There is conversation back and forth and Lauren rushes to the house after Jack leaves and literally throws up. When she returns to her attorney’s office to discuss what happened of course Ty is in the office. Lauren will not tell them what Jack threatened her with. Just thinking about it had her running to the bathroom to throw up again.I loved the way Kristen slowly brought the love story together. Ty for some reason even he didn’t understand, was very possessive of Lo and wanted to protect her. Throughout the read he does the sweetest things for Lauren. Sweet and attentive and pampering is something Lauren is definitely not accustomed to, and she’s actually liking it. When reading their story you realize Lauren is a little gun shy when it comes to commitment and Ty has to earn her trust and prove to Lauren that all men aren’t like her ex. I also loved that Lauren was a writer, A Hot Steamy Erotic Romance writer. This was absolutely great, pen name and all. Her ex had no idea and she wanted to keep it that way. You see her books were great hits and they were being commissioned to be made into movies. The scene that caught me off guard was when Jack showed up at Lauren’s home the morning after she and Ty had a disagreement. Lauren thought it was Ty and opened the door without checking who it was. Jack pushed himself into her house and not only threatened her, but threatened to kill her and he damn well nearly did. If it hadn’t been for Cara and Jill concerned that their friend didn’t show up at the coffee house and wasn’t answering her phone, to decide to go out to her house she may have died. Oh and if you’re wondering Ty so gets his revenge on Jack. Does he ever can we say happy dancing and fist pumping. The romance/sex between Ty and Lauren is so, hmmm don’t have the right words for it. I guess you’ll just have to pick up a copy and read for yourself. I’ve already preordered “Falling for Jillian”. I so knew there was something between Jill and Zach and I can’t wait to see how this one plays out. 5* and can’t wait for more. I have to admit after reading Loving Cara I went out and purchased all Kristen Proby’s reads. Happy Reading!!!
