Grandsons love this book. We've read it half dozen times in 2 days and it's one of their faves. We didn't know too much about ZZZAX, but it is quite a dangerous entity. It shut down Times Square and then wanted to consume all of the energy from the rest of New York City. Luckily, the Avengers outsmarted the awesome energy felon and saved the city that never sleeps from complete and total anniliation. We can all thank Capt. America, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk and Thor for saving our Big Apple. We enjoy all the Golden Books Super Hero stories and this book is one of the best.

This is a fantastic book if while helping your child/sibling/nephew/niece (etc) you wish to expose them to the wonderful world of superheroes! These days you can't go five feet out into the world without bumping into something superhero related and that's not a bad thing! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book to my little sister and she had a blast as well. She was really into it as she's familiar with the characters from having seen "Avengers" about a hundred times. The story is simple, yet engaging. The illustrations aren't on par with the comic books, but are quiet well done. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to add a little "punch" to their reading sessions. Excelsior!

I am pleasantly surprised by the new LGB releases of super hero books. The stories aren't very violent and the artwork is kinda cool. The reading level of this one is perfect for beginning readers (a sentence or two per page), but way to simple for my 7 year old. He still loves to re-read it though to look at the characters.

I got this for my super hero obsessed 4yo son and he loves it. Good story line with some of his favorite super heros. He likes the pictures too.

At first I was skeptical at buying yet another large "picture book". Glad I did. This is not just a "picture book" although the images contained therein are captivating, wonderful, and also sad. Its not just the images of the Andrea Doria with which I have a personal connection but the last years of the great ocean liners are thoughtfully documented here and even though we have often heard about that lost era it bears revisiting - not just for nostalgia sake but to remind ourselves of the heights to which human endeavor can soar.I visited the Doria in May of 1956 to see my grandmother off to Italy so that she could pay one last visit to her homeland. The ship was so different than the other ships I was lucky enough to visit ( The Queen Mary, The Queen Elizabeth, The SS United States) that I have never been able to get her out of my mind.I am grateful to Mr Miller for his effortsBuy a copy before they are out of print!

I was a bit cautious in purchasing this book as other reviewers critiqued that it only dealt in a small way with the Andrea Doria. Actually, the book centers on the totality of the history of the Andrea Doria as the postwar flagship of the Italian Line and the bearer of the Italian maritime tradition. The history of Italian trans-Atlantic passenger shipping is covered with photos of the ships that preceeded and sailed concurrently with the Andrea Doria and their histories. There are excellent photos and descriptions of her sisters such as the Saturnia and the Cristoforo Colombo. There are numerous photos of the Andrea Doria and her interior - including one of a tourist class cabin. All in all, this book is a useful addition to any maritime library and is essential to the student of postwar Italian passenger maritime history. Couldn't be better unless bigger so I gave it 5 stars.

This book is a welcome addition to the library of any maritime historian, particularly those with an interest in the classic Italian liners. Though the book's title is "Picture History of the 'Andrea Doria'" it actually covers most all Italian liners, with particular emphasis on the "Andrea Doria," of course.The photographs are good and I had not seen many of them before. There is good coverage of other famous Italian liners such as "Rex," Conte de Savoia," "Leonardo da Vinci," and the sister ship of the "Doria," the "Cristoforo Colombo." Other competing liners are also covered in lesser detail.The book is generally quite good, and Miller has assembled a very good general historical overview of Italian shipping in the twentieth century. The book is in a rather odd format, and is only 118 pages long, making it somewhat resemble a special edition periodical.Overall, I give the book four stars. It is a welcome and worthwhile read, yet I would have actually preferred more photographic coverage of the "Doria," particularly with more emphasis on interior shots.

To go along with the other reviewers, this book should be renamed as a Picture History of Italian Line and other Italian Liners because this is what it is. The book contains 118 pages. 44 are dedicated to the ANDREA DORIA. The rest is a history of Italian Line liners as well as other Italian passenger ships - Costa, Sitmar etc. The photographs are good and the other ships are interesting but the title is misleading. The author could have taken advantage of the many existing interior photos and even included vintage advertising, and copies of interior booklets and even menus but he didn't.

This book is beatiful, the pictures are great. It brings back memories for I was on this ship back in 1956 when I wascoming over to the US. Unfortunately it sunk.

I purchased this book to help with my hobby of building scratch built models. I am currently I wish the book had more pictures of the ship prior to the wreck, but it seems to be catered more towards the history of the Italian line.

If you like the history of ocean liners, this series is terrific.

This then lead me to Demian, Narcissus and Goldmund (my fave) and all the rest culminating in Hesse's best work...Das Glasperlenspiegal or The Glass Bead Game. Siddhartha is the the story of Buddha written by a 20th century European white male. This little book will certainly get you started. It started my path fo me...I am now 56 and am currently reading Wings To Freedom by Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath and Shankara's Crest-Jewel of Descrimination. I can't say that I've reached the Cristos yet but I am one with all...for sure.

This book was a required textbook for my Operations Management and Information Systems course in an MBA program. The book reads well, the material is clearly explained and chapters are well-organized. In each chapter, the authors describe the use these techniques in real life cases in actual companies. There are a lot of problems and self-tests at the end of each chapter which help to learn the material in depth.

This was the textbook for my quantitative analysis class. Expensive, but by far, one of the best management science books I have read. I will be using this as a reference book for years.

DisappointedGot th book like this right after opening the box. I did write a lot more in my initial comment. However amazon censored it, and did not let me post it. So now I am just writing this subtle message. About how my book was just a bunch of assembled garbage.

VERY dense, technical textbook. One of the MOST difficult, if not the most difficult class I’ve ever taken

there is nothing wrong with the book but you dont need to buy this or rent it, you can find the pdf online for free.

It met the requirements for my class. Great product

Had to buy this for class. Such a bad read, no wonder it was 'cheaper' compared to other $200 text books.
