I was frankly reluctant at first to read the book and its international law stories, but a friend told me that they are riveting and I would love them. She was right: I could not put the book down once I started. It seems curious for law stories, but these are not only well written but intriguing. The author was a truly an accomplished and creative lawyer who had the opportunity to attract major renown clients for what I found to be exciting and profound cases. I particularly liked the chapter entitled "Argentina: The Dirty War" During the midst of a true "dirty war" in Argentina in 1979, a ruthless military junta grabbed thousands of citizens in the middle of the night and caused them to disappear. The author was asked by the OAS to meet with Rabbi Marshall Myer in Buenos Aires, who had discovered the whereabouts of hundreds of Jewish "disappeared people", and obtain the information he secretly secured for the use of the OAS' Human Rights Commission. At great risk, the author not only did this, but also secretly carried back a draft of Jacobo Timmermann's now famous "Prisoner Without a Name, Cell without a Number," telling the story of atrocities of the junta, In short, This book is a great read.

I loved the way he intertwined the reader into his books...and how it was alwaysso difficult to put the book down. He was one of the great writers....for me. He willbe very much missed. He really taught me a great deal...with his great reseach thatwas included in his books.4 Thank you.

He has great access to our military as far as what really goes on and how each piece of military fits into a whole battle plan or maneuver. This book needs to be updated though. Our military, especially the air wing moving fast with new armour and new capabilities.
